Sooo, let's say you're at work and you go into a half squat type position. This position you may do a hundred times each shift. Except this time when you're standing back up it feels like your knee cap is about to blow off followed by a sh*^$ad of pain forcing you to put all the weight onto your other leg. You can walk, go up and down stairs, but once in a while you bend just right and wham! The pain extends up and down from the knee cap as well.

Not that this is happening to me right now

I am making an appointment for the doc, just wanted to hear if any of you have had similar experiences.

Maybe it has less to do with your actual knee and more to do with the flexibilty of the muscles around it. I know most of my knee issues are directly linked to tight hamstrings. I would definatley get it looked at, just leave monday open :snow:

Sounds like a flap of cartilage is getting caught. I had the same thing. The pain is beyond belief for an instant.

If this is related to work, you need to let them know ASAP! You could be SOL on coverage through your employer if it goes unreported. Insurance review types will assume you hurt yourself off the job and are trying to dig your hand into their pockets if injuries are not reported immediately as they happen. Since its a use injury over time, perhaps that won't apply as much. But unless your pain is terribly bad, I would report it to work before seeking medical treatment. Hopefully they can make changes in the workplace so you do not have to keep performing the same mechanics that are causing the problem.

Agree 100%. Also, if you're gonna ski I'd get familiar with knee braces if you're not already.

Oh yes, the paper work has been done! But, I know this isn't all work related, it is a combo of work and play! In the meantime I just need to watch it at both
