Lake MX145 Shoes - Men's

BLA.jpg

Nothing shuts down the fun on a snow-bike adventure faster than cold, wet feet. If you plan on putting a respectable number of miles atop your snow bike this winter, youll need to invest in some dedicated footwear. It makes all the difference. Lake has been making winter-specific cycling shoes for a few years now, and it already has the concept dialed. It started with the MXZ303 winter biking boot, but honestly, its overkill unless youre doing some very serious, very cold snow biking. For most of us, the MX145 mid-weight winter shoe will do very nicely.
The MX145 starts with Lakes Race Sole. This fiberglass injected sole is relatively stiff and features a Mountain Race X non-marking rubber outsole. This combination has the stiffness to put plenty of power to the pedals, and offers plenty of traction off the bike at the same time. The uppers are a highly water-resistant waxed canvas and leather, and Lake installed a waterproof membrane to seal out the elements. The insole features a heat-reflective material facing your foot and a waffle pattern facing the sole that traps heat inside the shoe.
The dual Boa closure has been quickly adopted by the professional ranks due to the fact that it offers easy fine-tuning, and it stays tight throughout your entire ride. And since youre able to independently adjust tension on the forefoot and the heel, you can lock down your heel, without having to over-tighten the rest of the shoe. And as you probably know, that means better bloodflow and greater comfort.
