Does demoing count? If so, the Saturday in March 2020 right before everything shut down...
My question was mainly just for fun, but if you paid to demo then it counts.

I've done several free demo days over the years and enjoyed those. One time about half a life time ago I did a couple hours of snowboarding that way. I sucked and it was the only time I ever snowboarded. I borrow skis belonging to friends and family a few times a season and sometimes reciprocate with beer or food;)

I rented a snowboard last year in Japan and rented skis a couple of seasons ago at Sunapee

Yup...it was a paid demo (although it then counted as credit towards the skis that I purchased).

I also rent on deep days at western resorts...at least I used to when I was skiing 93mm waisted skis. Now I usually bring my Head Kore 105s which are really 107mm.

I recently retold this story on a skitalk thread . I was at Solitude one powder morning with an impatient snowboarder friend and it was dumping - really dumping! I was looking at skis to rent, contemplating getting something I might be interested in buying. He said, "Just get the fattest skis they've got." I did. Fun day!

I've done a lot of tagging a few ski days on to business trips...trade shows in Denver, SLC, Vancouver; meetings in Seattle. Even got a few days in flying home from LA...connected through SLC and took 3 days to change planes.
Bring my boots, rent skis appropriate for the day's conditions at a local shop.
Got one planned for January, 3 days working in Seattle, 2 days at Crystal.

I used to do that all the time back in the day, tack on a weekend in CO, Tahoe, or UT to work trips to LA. Another story - I'm old so I've got a lot and yes it involves a ski rental.

I had a work project that actually was in Taos. I couldn't believe my luck! And then is was delayed and delayed, argh!. Finally, when I couldn't stand it anymore, I went into my boss's office and said point blank, "If this thing happens in July you might as well shoot me!" (Yes she knew I was a ski freak.) Well she made it happen. Last weekend of March I flew Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and we shot video for 2 days in a blinding snowstorm. Saturday I got to ski over 2 feet of new snow. Sunday I put a nice core shot in one the K2 TRC's I had rented in search of fresh tracks. By the way, everyone had avoided that section and I knew better, that there must be something lurking underneath, something that every single skier on the hill knew to avoid - except for me. Anyway, I deserved that dirty look from the shop guy when I returned them. Ant to top things off - when I got home my boss told me to expense everything!

For myself? When I was, hmm, must have been in high school, and my binding toepiece broke off while I was putting on my skis at the top of the Cannon tram. That was the first time I ever rode down the tram; fortunately we were parked there, and my father drove me around to Peabody so I could rent skis. Another time my parents forgot to load the poles in the car, so we all had to rent those. More recently, I had to rent boots, also at Cannon, when I got there and discovered I'd forgotten mine.
I've rented equipment for my kids a lot, and have Opinions about the various ways ski areas handle kids' rentals. Definitely preferred it where you drop the kid off at the ski school desk and they fit their boots and skis (Cannon, Sugarloaf, Wachusett, Bretton Woods), rather than where they make you drag the kid through the rental shop first (Nashoba, Loon).

Cupious about this statement, do you mean you measured your Head Kore 105s and they were actually 107mm? I've always taken manufacturer specs as gospel.
Yes I did... because I read this somewhere and wanted to check and yes they are 107mm. Have no idea why they say 105. After this I measured my 93mm G3s and they were 93mm.

Some models the waist width changes as the length changes. I wonder if one of the other lengths is genuinely 105 and that's the name they chose.

Edit: Yeah, that's it. From Head's site:

I'll be damned...I have the Kore 105 and I just measured and they are 107! Since they are my powder day skis that's all good. Now I know why I have been so impressed with the float.
