I think I need a warm-weather hobby that I can be equally passionate about as skiing. I've hiked quite a bit in my life which is the only thing that comes close. Mountain biking is fun too, but neither are quite as addictive as skiing.
Combining hiking and skiing is a great warm weather hobby ;)

Yup Ive been feeling it this year. seams like the goods just arrived and now its almost done. I don't generally ski as late as most of you do because of other interests, just when the spring ski season starts so does the the spring run off and all the rivers in the white mountains get flowing and my whitewater gear comes out. A good snow year is great for both sports lots of snow means lots of flow on the rivers. Last year was so bad I when ski season ended I didnt miss it but the year before last and this year I'm going to hate to see it end.

My mood has totally changed. Monday I logged Day 30 which was my goal for this season. I have a complete feeling of contentment right now. I have 3-4 more lift-serviced days on the docket and may do a few local hikes. A run to Killington late in April is not likely, but still not out of the question. I had a great season and I'm now starting to formulate some plans for spring projects around the house (some involving masonry, more landscaping, etc.) so that will keep me busy the next few months.

Even with the warm weather and many summer time interests, I cannot use the word content at all. I wish the season was longer, I did get in 35 days so far with a few more to go....but I am hardly content.

Talk about being in a weird mood about this whole thing now. After an April powder day, I'm right back to wanting more. It's like mid-winter in NNE. Scored 33 days this season and now I'm back to that melancholy feeling. Jiminy may reopen on Friday which will be the only local option left. Perhaps a late April run to Killington will happen and I may log 35 days this season. Then the 2-3 week depression sets in... :-(

What a weird season. Spring bumps in December and powder in April? Crazy!

There is no melancholy here as we approach the end of the season...the last 2 months have been epic for me and last week's powder frenzy at Wildcat has left me with wonderful images of cold smoke and face shots that will last all summer.

And that is unusual for me...I'm usually a little depressed about the end coming. I guess the crappy start to the season lowered my expectations, then the last 2 months totally exceeded my wildest dreams.

So I better not complain or be unhappy. ULLR has been good to me.
