Area skied: Living Memorial Park, Brattleboro Vermont.
Date skied: January 31st from 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Surface conditions: Packed powder, groomed.
Warren and I spent part of our afternoon skiing at Living Memorial Park in Brattleboro. This is a small ski area located just to the west of interstate I-91. The hill has a vertical drop of 204' with two ski slopes serviced by a circa 1965 T-bar.
We had driven past this area many times on the way up farther afield in Vermont and on the way to Mount Snow and we where intrigued by the possibility of skiing there. After skiing at Magic Mountain earlier in the day we made our way down to Brattleboro for a few runs.
Lift tickets cost $5.00 and this has to be the cheapest skiing that I have ever done. Warren and I booted up and soon after we where off the T-bar and at the top of the hill.
Summit:
The hill does have snowmaking and there is an airless system in place to provide cover and a longer more dependable skiing season. Part of the main slope is dedicated to sledding/tubing
Main slope:
