I just posted this on a vintage computing forum, but thought I'd throw it on here too. Who knows, maybe one of you has one of these hiding in a basement, attic, closet, or garage!
I'm looking for a Gateway 2000 P4D-66. It was a 1993 or 94 machine, with an Intel 486DX-2 66mhz. I would love to find one in operable condition, but would be satisfied as long as the motherboard and AT power supply are good. I can replace most of the other components without problem.
I had one of those machines in the mid 90s, and loved it! I wish I hadn't gotten rid of it! I'd love to find one for all of my DOS and 16bit Win gaming. I've tried the concept of emulation on a newer machine, but it just doesn't feel the same! That Gateway rig was great. Loved the case design, the hardware selection, the bundled software, etc. I even still have the original media that came with it, so I could restore it to its original state with Win 3.11 and all the bundled programs. All I need is the computer!
If anyone has one, or has any idea (other than eBay... I check there frequently) of where to find one, I'd be very appreciative. I'm willing to pay a little for one, depending on condition.
