Taking a trip for my birthday, and wanting to hit somewhere in VT. or NH. Anywhere northwest of Manchester. Any suggestions? I need really good ski in/out slopeside, the best nightlife and obviously, really good skiing/riding. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

best nightlife would likely be killington. pretty sure they have slopeside somewhere at K. good skiing and riding depends on what you are looking for, but K pretty much has something for everyone if you don't mind big crowds and a resort feel.

I would have to go with killington also. Huge nightlife and good skiing. I never thought the crowds were that bad at K due to the size of the resort. In fact I will be there for 3 days this weekend.

One more vote for KILLINGTON if you want the BEST in New England.

Contact the Killington Reservation Center and they will set you up...

Other possible NH options may be Attitash - North Conway or Loon Mountain - Lincoln/Woodstock.

Aren't we all?
Killington probably fits the bill as well as anywhere. Truth be told, if the skiing's great, who needs the night life?

Slopeside at Killington

If you got the buckeroos then slopeside Killington is heaven on Earth. We stayed here one year http://www.skionskioff.com. Sweet accomondations.

Other trailside accomodations that may be more affordable is at Okemo. There are some sweet deals at the Jackson Gore area there. For some reason the public has completely taken in this part of the hill and low demand has kept the prices down.

Can't disagree with a weekend at The Big K for nightlife, etc. You will find the biggest crowds and the most options there. If you can't land accommodations, you might also consider Sunday River, which is a little further drive, but very similar in vibe to Killington. Or Stowe, which is a little more laid back, but always a great time.

Chile, the Dead would get plenty of airtime too. Nothing like a good single malt and a nice cigar while listening to the wind howl up in the bowl!

HA.... ?thanks?

Floyd is only for napping in the sleeping bag... Probably had some Pat Metheney stuff on it too..
I had a few SD cards for my MP3 player at Tucks.. One was for hiking(trip hop-reggae) - - One for climbing(Bluegrass - only used it climbing esasy stuff like Hillmans) -- One for napping -- one for riding(lots of Dead(Estimated>Eyes/Scarlette>Fire/China>Rider - only on upper snowfields)....

I don't blast tunes when I'm climbing or riding something technical...

Yup - I like watching the stars rise above the bowl with a sweet apline glow on the headwall.. Also dig hiking up to the bowl in a full moon.. Headlamps off!!
