Was the East Basin double open? That's Loon's best kept secret lift. Normally not that crowded as everyone rides the North Peak HSQ. It's the only way to access the Loon summit aside from the gondi.

I was going to post a trip report, but all just add to this nice one.
It was not as cold as the previous Sunday, but it was cold. The good news it was warmer than predicted. 4F When I stated a little after 8. RumRunner was to die for even got to do Coolidge casue the race groups moved off after lunch.

Upper Flume was realy good early. Lower flume was as quiet as could be, lots of snow made for the last 2 weeks on it.. I made 6 runs straight under the chair. No sliding no noise. Nice PP man made.
I took lower Speak easy as well cause fresh snow made, that usually gets icy qucikly. Not this Sat Covered beautuflly. Rampasture was the Groomers pick of the day and it deserved to be so. Lines on the Double even got a bit long around social arrival hour 10.30 to 11.30 after lunch it was pretty much ski on ski off. Best day of the year.

Uphillclimber you picked the right day to go.

Heading to Loon midweek next week, first time there without the holiday crowd, and they will most likely be at 100% by then! Woo Hoo!

Don't want to bust your bubble, but Friday can get a bit busy at Loon.

Still no where near the weekend crowds, but alot of folks make it up. Just stay off the Gondola. I would be suprised if they added any new terrain with the exception of some parlk elements. Mountain is in good shape, but I don't see expansion. Not really needed. Rolling Bear, upper northstar, no biggie. I would like to see the big dipper open though.

There were no guns out anywhere on the mtn sat on Sunday. Still lines attached to tower and Cannon guns, but no mobile guns anywhere to be seen. Web site shows on the Cam they are making on lower seven brothers or Picarron hard to tell.

Cool, I just got a coupon for Killington and probably giving that a shot next Wed. Never been there before, can't wait. Been a good year so far, all things considered.

I just refreshed the web cam, the park has guns going know and down under the Gondola. I think they are just startign up. Kind of Loon's old agenda. Make snow Mon-Thurs or Friday, shut down for the weekends. They were 24 7 for 2 weeks, really cause they had to be. I get asked alot about Loon and its Conditions. I think the 1st 3 hours the conditions are as good as any mountains. After that is starts to wear on weekends. This weekend the mountain held up well.
