Cannon just has a reputation of being icy and challenging, so the masses stay away. They probably could absorb iKon traffic, but I doubt they would join considering they are already on Indy and WMSP.

As an Indypass holder, I would hate to lose it to iKon.

Do they typically skip making snow on Paulie's? They had everything else on the Zoomer and Banshee pods done when I drove by but that. It was the same last year. Maybe just timing, it's still early?

I think they circle back to that if they can but its definitely one of the last to see any snowmaking.

Not sure about paulies, may just be capacity. Race canceled today because the t bar line rotted out. Off the top of my head profile, upper ravine, Taft slalom, skyline, ridge run, barons, dragons have not seen snowmaking. Upper cannon, Middle cannon and TTS need a refresh. Snowmaking was pulling equipment off the front five this AM.

Been at loon and/or cannon most everyday since opening. Contrast in crowd level is absurd. Had a race at loon last weekend, stood there watching the constant hoarde swarming the 8, stopped by cannon after and parked in the third row, Peabody was ski on.

I don't know the finances or logistics but cannon could easily absorb 5 - 7 ikon days. The extra crowding would suck but worth it if the revenue was put towards snowmaking.

I get that the purists would be pissed but there is never anyone here. Other than first chair, not sure there has been a single liftline this year.
That's the beauty of cannon. They should consider bringing back.2fer days though.

Im guessing they resurface real quick and move on to taft/upper ravine and mitt t2b.

Cannon is about as restrictive of any Indy resorts on the Indy Base pass (No Saturdays or Sundays Early Dec - Early March + Holiday Weeks). If they aren’t willing to give in on that I’m guessing they like it just the way it is.

Why would Cannon want to be on the Ikon or Epic pass, you've seen whats it done to Loon and other resorts.

Nearly two decades later, south peak is getting a permanent structure. Per the barkeep, it will be a lodge with Cisco.

They also buried the river and graded.

Good to hear about the lodge. Bad to hear about Cisco. No idea how they stay in business other than people associate the name with Nantucket and assume it must be good.

you are not kidding, asked for the lager because I was heading home to work, tasted like a miller light that had been poured over ice and left in the sun, absolutely awful beer

was difficult to hear due to an obnoxious DJ but the barkeep also said something about the owner of cisco acquiring the mall and turning it into a giant beer garden, mentioned a liquor license for the property with open container and a variety of restaurants.

I have also become increasingly convinced that timbertown had nothing to do with beginners and everything to do with real estate. did not count but the number of units being constructed between pemi base and timbertown is absurd. maybe a dozen presumably seven figure properties in various stages of construction.

There's a simple reason why Cisco beers taste like swamp water. The owner of the brand is Anheuser-Busch inbev. It is nice to hear that at least something permanent is going in at south, but I haven't been there in years now so I have no skin in the game.

Had the exact same thought. It all kind of goes towards the Loon area becoming a satellite Massachusetts town. Their beer is so unimpressive.

Addition or a separate building? I think there will be a Loon built lodge at Timbertown someday.

I hear you on Timbertown. Since that was cut, it seems real estate has finally started moving and/or being built upon on the South Access road big time. All those lots had been on the market and they already had the townhome units down lower, but why but and build and have to hike up to base camp? I do believe Timbertown will be the beginner destination eventually, but I think the reason they put it in without a lodge was in fact to move real estate now. It wasn't even mentioned on their 2030 Flight plan.
