LINCOLN, NH — Loon Mountain is now expecting to open with skiing and riding accessed by the Kancamagus Quad, rather than top-to-bottom terrain via the Gondola as originally reported. A single run is planned for opening day which is still scheduled for Saturday, November 20.
According to Booth Creek Media Relations Manger Tim Lund, "We are actually close to opening top-to-bottom. The main issue has been our need to keep the access road open while we finished repairs to the gondola. With the warm temps we have been having this week, we have not be able to get the 12 hours of constant snow guns on the road. This probably won't happen until Saturday. We are close, and there is a chance we could have top-to-bottom Sunday or Monday."
Trails to follow include Exodus, Grand Junction and Link, serviced by the East Basin Lift. Early-season lift tickets will be $44 for adults – a savings of $8 to $15 off the regular lift ticket rates. For more information, call 1-800-229-LOON (5666) or visit www.loonmtn.com.
