Pulling into the lot at Magic we didn't think we'd ski past 2 PM. After two runs we were almost certain. But after a burger on the deck at noon the sun softened up what was groomed and we stayed til 4. The Red Line was still cranking until 5.

Black Line and everything off that was closed and its just as well. Hard packed refrozen granular isn't much fun to ski on. About half of what was around Red Line was groomed and skiable.

One more vid from this trip. We decided to try the glade. Mistake. Super hard pack with glare ice. I've never seen so much debris in a glade. Damage, no doubt, from previous days high winds.

Couldn't have been much fun on TZ this weekend. I hit it the prior weekend and it wasn't that much better. The debris is actually fom the ice even we had the Monday before last.

Someone else there mentioned that about ice damage - I'd forgotten. Do you know the reason more wasn't groomed though? Anywhere they ran the groomer it seems made a huge difference. Not being able to ski around Black Line was a disappointment. Was there a lot of damage there too? Or was not grooming that side more of a budget issue?

Its more a function of not having a winch cat and not blowing snow on those trails. The debris has been cleared on all the runs at this point with the exception of the glades. Black line was one of the only "west side" runs that actually softened nicely this past weekend. Talisman was starting to soften at the end of the day as well.
