The guns are still blazing away this morning, but I fear this will be the end for awhile as temps are expected to break into the low 40's today....Guess that'll give them time to start moving those big piles around

I would guess they'll sit tight pushing anything around until after tomorrow's rain. Unfortunately, it looks like a lot of rain, but those piles are huge and they should be able to hold onto most of it. Hopefully they'll be able to dust the mountain again before Friday. That new groomer is really going to help them open with a good surface, I'd imagine.

With how much they work they have to push those piles down I wouldn't be surprised if they got started on it despite the rain.

They are actually forcasting rain/snow for 9pm-2am up here :snow:

Yeah. Lots of rain tomorrow, but luckily it will be a pretty cold rain and should move out quick. Back to seasonable cool weather on Wednesday.

A flood watch was just issued for Litchfield County for 1-2" of rain on top of frozen ground:-x.

On a side note our family is planning on attending the New Years skiing/celebrating event at Ski Sundown.

If the weather and snow are decent, we will be skiing there on friday.

I hope we don't lose power... several years ago when we had that ice/rain storm in November, Brian and I spent a couple hours bailing the basement out until power was restored. No power, no sump pump. :(

BTW, did anyone catch the caption on this one on Sundown's site?

Good thing most of Sundown is in Hartford county, so the trails are safe anyway... :spin:

Probably not as Hartford and Tolland counties will get even more rain:angry: The offical NWS point and click forecast calls for 1.0" - 2.75" of rain.

Maybe we can find a really large umbrella for the mountain:)

Do you know anything about the New Years party/skiing at the mountain? is it worth it?

I've never been to the New Year's party, but I've always wanted to check it out. The novelty of skiing until midnight seems cool to me. :)

Hope that rain is being kind to those big piles of snow....

Hopefully they haven't leveled too many of those big piles of snow yet. Much easier to work with/get a better overall surface if the cat's still have piles to work with starting probably tommorrow as opposed to pre-flattened snow
