Annual boys ski weekend. Usually a game time decision on where we are skiing...this year we are looking at Jay, Burke, Whiteface, Gore and some others....will go where has the best snow...

I hear rumors that that weekend is school break for alot of kids in the northeast. Dont want to hit anywhere that will be jammed with folks...

I don't think that's a school break time. Most schools have an April vacation and by then there's not a lot of families headed north.

That's traditionally the start of the private/independent school 2 week break. You'll see kids but not enough to crimp anyone's style. College break schedules are all over the map. Neither should cause you to require avoidance strategies.

I'm heading to WF that weekend--skiing will be awesome and we'll get to watch the US Nationals!!!! Pretty psyched myself.

The privates only have one break for two weeks in March.

3 weeks. unless that's changed in the past 15 years.

At least that was the case in the Lakes Region Division. Vermont Academy (alum) Kimball Union, New Hampton, Proctor, Holderness, Brewster, Tilton, Dublin, White Mountain School

I'm pretty plugged into the metro Boston network and it's only 2 weeks here. Been that way for at least 13 years.

well, glad my father had the resources for me to go. tuition has tripled since I graduated in 94.

also glad I chose a northern school for that extra week and the proximity to better ski areas

You will probably be able to rub shoulders with some of our top skiers as well. I would have gone, but it is the same time as our out west trip.

That's what I'm hoping for. I've never seen a race of this caliber in person----can't wait to hear that freight train goin by me.

Wow! I know where to go looking for a job when I'm done with school! :-o My SIL teaches at a private in CT but their schedule is on 6 weeks, off for 1 week, throughout the entire school year.

RE: the original question, college spring breaks probably won't affect you... ours is next week. Public schools around here had their time off at Presidents' Day week and around mid-April will be the next.

I would recommend Jay. I was there 2 weeks ago. They're tearing down the Hotel Jay in May and they have amazing specials with lift ticket, breakfast and dinner thrown in. Of course, there's always the Jay Cloud.
