What are some of your most memorable runs from last season? Here are mine:

  • Chute at Mount Snow on 11/12
Surprisingly good bumps on a spongy manmade base. Good AZ crew there that day.

  • Northstar at Killington on 12/4
Refreshing lines with JimG. all afternoon.

  • Lower K-27 and Claire's at Hunter on MLK Day
    Manmade blizzards all day.

  • Fall Line at MRG on 2/8
A powder day and quite possibly my favorite trail.

  • Temptor at Sundown on 2/22
Powder night with AZers on newly seeded bumps.

  • Black Line at Magic on 2/28
    Deep, deep snow!

  • Middle Earth at Sugarbush on 3/21
A foot of fresh. Untracked the whole way.

  • Sel's Choice at Okemo on 4/6
    Perfect zippers.

  • Ripcord at Sugarbush on 4/25
The most perfect bumps you could ever imagine.

That run on Middle Earth was my all time favorite run, awesome way to start the day! I also enjoyed that powder night on the freshly made Temptor bumps, even if it was interrupted by work for me. I had some other really good runs, but those two are overshadowing them...

I'm not sure if I had any real memorable runs this season, but I do remember having some sweet turns on the front five at Cannon many times as well as some corduroy ripping down the Dippers at Burke. I wanted to try and hit some smaller Mass areas this year, but I didn't have a chance to go that far south this season.

2. AZ day at Hunter. Poaching a closed Clairs under the chair. 1 run by myself, and a few with several other AZ'ers, and a patroler who followed:-o.

Hmmm....

My most memorable runs were at Mt Baker in December and Eldora in March. Big powder days. I have no idea what the names of any of the runs were.

At KMart, the first few runs down lower Ovation the first Saturday it opened were pretty memorable. They'd blown perfect talcum powder.

I had a ton of powder tree runs in spots like Patsys, Low Rider, Scarecrow, and Toilet Bowl on Snowdon. Any time you're in a foot or more of untracked powder, it's memorable.

Northstar and Great Bear in April when you have to walk up Killink to get to them are always memorable runs. The last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Killington was open, I did 6 runs per day doing the walk and ended my day over there all three days.

In my mind, northern New England
1) First run down down Mittersill -- First time out of bounds in any ski area.

2) Flying Monkey at Sunday River after a huge March dump -- The new snow revealed new lines through the trees; Amazing!

3) Hiking to the top of Burke with trailboss and skiing down a "trail" used by a utility -- Great run, ducking into the woods and a great cover story on the lift up.

4) Skiing down the t-bar line on the last Sunday at the Loaf with madpadraic -- A run we can never do when the whole hill is open; a stream was opening up beneath us.

5) Ducking into the woods beside Bunny at MRG then coming out in Canyons -- Canyons was closed that day and when I finally got down, a patroller was waiting for me. Told him a story about getting lost and that it was my first time at MRG so he didn't pull my pass.

Lots of out-of-bounds forays. One of these days, my pass will be pulled.

Had a bunch of great ones this year..tough to remember particular ones. Some poaching at Okemo, forget what day. Around New Years at Magic was great. Hit a great day at Stowe in December. A-basin last week. Steamboat was great. Snowbasin was a trip too. It keeps going.

That was me, Reefer, and ta&idaho! I'd have to go with that. It's the only powder (if you want to call it that) I got all year. :-(

I knew Reefer was there but couldnt remember the rest. It was some of the only powder I got besides New Years. Hurt myself before all the powder came...:-(

A 20 minute top to bottom blast at Panorama BC. 1/2 mile of bumps, then roller coaster powder, traverse around the backside, then into a powder field.
And of course my 3 hour hike at Alta.

My first faceplant of the day about 150 yds down on Teewinot Face in almost 3 ft of pow in Jackson Hole. I got snowdown my throat and up my nose and came to the conclusion that waterboarding is definitely torture. That's what made it memorable along with wrestling myself and my skis back to the surface. My next 2 face plants later that day were free of any drama, just fun as the sun came out and melted the snow off my face.

Periwinkle Bowl at MRG 2/9 - huge pow bumps and over 24" of fresh snow. The entire Mtn rocked that day
