Story via Facebook:

John... James Clapp, Scott Danis, Julie Trottier and I came up on it in the woods, at which point it took off running down Lower National. Went over Crossover and headed into the base area... then it turned towards the Quad and literally plowed through the Quad base area full of people. It slalomed several people (who could not believe this was happening) and continued into the woods beyond the Lookout Double. Then it just hung out for a while on Lower Lord, Lower Gulch, and Lower Standard.

That makes what, a month (?) that she has been wandering around the ski resort? There have been sightings from under the Kitchen Wall to Hazelton to Cliff Trail and Nosedive... now she's been in the Liftline/National area and over on the trails off the Triple.

Nice pics...young bulls are inquisitive...but kids have to learn to watch from afar and give animals an easy escape..ie sometimes move to the side of trail or stop...etc, OTHW moose, most animals, will often feel threatened very easily, then the flight or fight thing kicks in. Now if these stupid state governments...ie Maine.. would stop their damn moose hunts for $$$ they wouldn't be as timid = on guard mode. Was like that wayyyy back in early-late 60s:-o ...;-)..and you could get a lot closer to them without them spooking.
Ranting = OFF.. Looks like NICE SNOW! (2/20 edit: Wrong Again!)

Reminds me of the moose that took up residence at MRG 2 years ago. They even named the moose but I can't recall the name right now.

I think the last one is an appropriate metaphor for some NE skiing this season

Nice pics. This is the best thing since the bear family was running around on Hunter a couple of Aprils ago.

Yeah...if people don't act in a threatening manner...and give them space, they most always just go about their hunt for food....wherever. Amazing how close we can often get when not posing as a threat....

Saw 3 moose at the base of Peak 7 at Breckenridge when we were out there a couple weeks ago. Awesome. Didn't freak out. They just walked across the trail calmly as skiers/boarders passed by and stopped to take pictures and went into the woods...
