Trip Report:

Awesome day is all I can say. First time out since Valentine's day.

Parked at my usual frontrow spot at Sundance and was on Tumbleweed around 9. Sundance Triple was spinning but lifty said they were only doing tests. Ego Alley wouldn't run either, I guess they aren't bothering anymore. Could already tell this was going to be one of the busiest weekends of the year by the looks of the Yankee Clipper line at 9am, ouch. I opted for the Summit Local, and my day had begun...

Off to the North Face first. First run down Freefall, this would actually be run of the day for over there. It was beautiful carvable stuff, all day. Then took a run down a groomed Plummet (weird), and a groomed Fallen Timbers (also weird, as Chute was bumped). Upper Challenger was groomed and was awesome with the natural snow. I didn't try Olympic, Jaws, or any of the others.

I then popped over to Sunbrook where I took a couple runs down Thanks Walt and Beartrap, both awesome. Cloud Nine under the lift (natural had great soft bumps).

After lunch I took runs down South Bowl and Ridge Run on the front, both beautiful. Then ducked over to Carinthia. I skied off the Heavy Metal double for a while as there was no line. Narrow Gauge under the lift with great natural, as was Iron Run. Stugger's Chute in great shape. Rode Nitro lift up and did Titanium top to bottom. Still plenty of natural. Took Mine Shaft out of there and went over to try some natural runs on the Main Face. One More Time plenty of snow but plenty of almost impassable bare spots. Overbrook would prove to be incredible as the only way in is through the park. So much snow it seemed like a snowmaking run.

Even though my legs were shot I went down River Run to scope out Ripcord. Not many brave souls on it today, the way I liked it. Went up and tried my luck. Sides (where I always ski it) are down to rocks in many spots, so it made it extra tricky. I always forget to breath on this one, wow.

That was it for me. Rode up North Face, down South Bowl, to Tramline (great short little run) and then down Ego Alley and out to Sundance and home.

What a day... my legs are shot!

Bear Trap, Narrow Gage, and Ripcord, in order.

Nice report and pics. I need to ski Snow before the All 4 One program ends. But now that Pico and Burke are in great shape, leaving those two for a day is a tall order.

Doing the half-groom on Beartrap nowadays now too, huh? Lame...

I guess you could say its lame; but I happen to like the option of being able to ski the run without the bumps. Its had some of the best snow on the mountain this year. The times I have been on the 'Trap this year it was weird with the lack of skiers. In the past the run was packed, wall to wall bumps with Guns N' Roses blaring, lol.

Roark, sorry I missed your PM before it was too late, hope your day was good too....

Attached is a shot from Dark Side of the Moon that I forgot to upload yesterday. I didn't ski much of it, I just ventured it to take a leak, lol.

PS. Heavy Metal double has the best seats around, lol. new pads.
