part!ly sunny....40ish all day.....saddled up around 11..Proceeded to ego ally and started lapping it...nice lines, bumps were soft and forgiving!! Met up with Dennis and we took a little tour on the north face. Did a run down chute which was pretty firm and flat...nothing looked too interesting...so we headed back to the main face.....Groomers left a few lines on exhibition. so we hit them and crossed over thru the woods back to ego.....Did a run down ledge which was getting a little gnar but skiiable and fun!! Took a little tour thru sap tapper which has some snow, but also a lot of schrapnel sticking out!!! The rest of the afternoon we just lapped ego until are heads were spinning...Nice spring conditions....Should be great the rest of the week as the temps get warmer.....Good ripping with ya Dennis!!!!! Stopped at the Vermont deli and picked up some pulled pork, mac and cheese and some Choc chip cookies as a peace offering to the girlfriend (or as greg would call it "a deposit into the wife bank") Should be great thursday for you guys!!!

Nice report....

The Vermont Deli you speak of...and others have mentioned...is that the place on RT 9 as you head west out of Brattleboro?

All this talk is going to get me up there again just to hit those bumps on Ego.

Although, I heard a bad rumor than next weeknd will be their last due to lack of visits : (

You have been pushing folks to keep skier traffic up so they can remain open in a lot of your posts. Are you just a Mt. Snow loyalist or do you have connections to the area? Just curious

If it's the latter, you can tell the management that if they draw a line in the sand and say the 27th is it, they're sure to get 8 to 12 AZers for an outing.

Im pulling the trigger on a Mt. Snow pass....Killington really pissed me off this year...most everytime I went up there were no decent bumps to ski. except double fall line bumps on SS....They close early...F us over on BMMC...On the other hand snow opens early...with killer snowmaking....then they seed bump runs in the spring for us mogul fanatics, they got my respect and my skiing $$$

I've heard that same nasty rumor too :( Only 2 kids currently scheduled for the daycare center next weekend (and mine is one of them). The mountain is just burried with snow, okay there's a few small bare spots starting to poke through on some natural trails around where the usual water bars are, but it's just plain great. And in all seriousness if they had the staff right now, they could have essentially the entire mountain open, because Carinthia is still edge to edge coverage with the 1/2 pipe and Vermonster parks still intact, and from what I could see with the exception of the Southeast facing all natural snow Sunspot trail in Sunbrook, that looked to be some prime edge to edge corn too.

On the flipside, yesterday (the 14th) had a much bigger crowd than last Monday (the 7th), and hopefully with some nice weather this week, and many schools (at least in CT) having this week off that the weekday day tripper business will help management to decide to go for atleast another week. Then all we need to do is get mother nature to give us a DECENT weather weekend and things will be good.

My gut feeling is that if they decide to go past this weekend, that they'll pick up enough extra day ticket buying folks from the "lack of Killington effect" to go atleast weekend only through the 1st weekend of May. And it's this "lack of Killington" effect that might be enough to swing a close call about open/close to the stay open descision.

I agree with the doctor. Not only do you lose Killington as competition, but also Whiteface, Gore, Stratton, Okemo, Sunapee and Loon after this weekend.

That leaves Stowe, Sugarbush, Jay, Wildcat, Sunday River and Sugarloaf as the only areas that I am aware of scheduled to operate the weekend of the 27th.

Weekend of the 4th will probably be only Sugarbush and Sugarloaf....maybe Wildcat, but I don't think they have the base to make it.

We have a group going tomorrow.

Bring as many as possible!!!

*Note* I am being purely 100% selfish in this statement as I need for Mount Snow to stay open atleast on weekends through the 27th so I can get 50 days in this year ;)
