Just saw that. Very happy since my Alta/Snowbird pass includes the discount.

A minute from the Alta exit off the I-15!
So its $400 for a Collective pass. That gives you 2 days + 50% off with no blackout dates. An adult Stowe pass with no blackouts is $1,788. The walk-up rate for one day at Stowe is $108. So... you can ski for 27 days at Stowe using the 2 freebies + 50% off tickets before for the price of Stowe season pass.

Feel free to check my math. $1,788-$400=$1,388 $1,388/$54=approx 25 (and then add on the two free days)

That's a pretty good deal. I'd jump on it if I didn't live 6 hours from Stowe.

I bough the MCP a few months ago, and Taos has been on my radar for a while now, and is a manageable 6 hour drive. I just may ski there one weekend this season.

Or buy the season pass and ski more than 27 days!

NEW for ’15/16: StoweSeven Plus and StoweSeven passholders receive 50% off unlimited 1-day Lift Tickets, for their own use, at the following Mountain Collective destinations: AltaSnowbird, Aspen Snowmass, Jackson Hole, Mammoth, Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine, Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, Sun Valley, Taos, Thredbo and Whistler Blackcomb.

Valid for passholder only, excludes Stowe

Looks to me like you buy the Stowe pass for $1,788 and get 50% off on single day tickets at the other resorts. Not $399 for the Collective pass and a bunch of 50% off days at Stowe.

With the Collective pass you get 2 free days + 50% off tickets at all the resorts on the pass. What Stowe is doing for their passholders that don't have the Mountain Collective is extending the 50% off tickets to them.

Ok - it is a good deal then to buy the Collective Pass and take advantage of the 50% off deal at Stowe.

Only if you go less than 27 times otherwise buy the pass. But, if you go 12 it averages to about $78 per day. And the average goes down from there up to 27 times where the pass becomes a better deal. Either way neither is good for me.

The only thing that kind of stinks about this pass is that there's only 1 partner in the East and the Western areas are too far apart to logistically make it work. I suppose that it's intentional to force you to spend more money above and beyond the $400.

You could do a Bird > Jackson 4 day trip or a Squaw > Mammoth, but even those involve way more road travel than I'm interested in on a western trip.

This is enough to actually make me think about this. My company has offices in San Francisco and Salt Lake City. I actually might get my money's worth out of this.

For the handful of days I ski Stowe each year I'll stick with the VT. Pass & ski club appreciation days.

By the way the math is off for the season pass vs. 50% off. Online tickets for Stowe were $89 last year. You could even purchase the on line tickets on your phone in the base lodge while you booted up

It's 50% off the walk-up price.

That is kinda the whole point of the pass. Its a lodging play.
