MOUNTAINS OF NORTHERN UTAH..
.A STRONG COLD FRONT ENTERING THE AREA FROM THE NORTHWEST WILL
PUSH OVER THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY. IN THE
MOUNTAINS.. TEMPERATURES WILL FALL RAPIDLY TO FREEZING OR BELOW
BEHIND THE FRONT LATE THIS AFTERNOON. ABUNDANT MOISTURE ALONG THE
COLD FRONT AND WITH THE FRONTS ASSOCIATED STORM SYSTEM WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE OVER THE AREA THROUGH SATURDAY. LAKE EFFECT SNOW
SHOWERS COULD ALSO DEVELOP SATURDAY MORNING AS THE COLD AIRMASS
PUSHES OVER THE GREAT SALT LAKE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A SNOW
ADVISORY FOR THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS OF UTAH ABOVE 7500 FEET. THIS
ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM MDT SATURDAY.
THIS ADVISORY MAY NEED TO BE EXTENDED IF LAKE EFFECT SHOWERS
DEVELOP.
A UNSEASONABLY COLD AIRMASS WILL PUSH OVER THE AREA BEHIND A COLD
FRONT ENTERING THE STATE LATER TODAY. ABUNDANT MOISTURE ALONG THE
COLD FRONT AND WITH THE COLD FRONTS ASSOCIATED STORM SYSTEM WILL
CAUSE PERIODS OF SNOW TO DEVELOP TONIGHT OVER THE WASATCH AND
UINTA MOUNTAINS. TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL GENERALLY
RANGE FROM 2 TO 6 INCHES TONIGHT...WITH ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS
POSSIBLE SATURDAY DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF LAKE EFFECT SHOWERS
