Fernie looked pretty damn small when I went there first.. I was nervous...

You can't see half the terrain from the base...

2 years later and i still feel the same.. :)

Steamboat..160+ trails and you can only see a few from the base..take the gondola up and WOW it opens up into another world...

Snowking... looks innocent enough .... go straight to the top ..wonder why no one is there?? Ski to the edge.... notice the signs..."only one easy way down"... look straight down... your skis are hanging over the edge by a foot.... you say to the person you are skiing with..."YOU FIRST"... the steepest little mountain in the US.. EEEK

I know this sounds cheesy, but mountain creek in NJ ski's much bigger than it looks. If you pull into the main parking lot, you have no clue what the other mountains at MC have to offer. They have some green trail called sojorner (or something like that) that goes from the middle peak to the former great gorge (bear mountain maybe?) peak that is long long long .... the lift takes an hour and a day as well.

I will kind of agree with you here. When you park on either side (South or Vernon, I park at South), you get the impression that the side you are on is the whole place. But then take Southern Sojourn to South and Bear, or the Sojouran Double to Vernon and Granite and the place seems much bigger. Although when you ski there 20 times a season like I do, it never seems big really. Especially at the rate they get all the good trails going to even make the place seem big, haha.
