Damn. I got 3 Mad Card Lift Tix I haven't used and a bunch of Mad Money as well. No spring skiing in April at MRG sucks. That is some real bad news. Damn damn damn!!!
Why would you hold onto madriverglen tickets until April..sucks for you:-o
the skiing from the mid-station up should be real good if sun and warmth cooperate - things are pretty dicey for the first couple of hundred vertical feet.
Downloading the single from the midstation? I can't see how else you could get to the bottom. I know about the re-opening on Saturday (potentially) but there is no real way down the lowest 4 or 500 vert.
They can't download on the single. A couple years back before they replaced the lift, I posed a question in the AZ Challenge about whether the new lift would do downloading, because it would make early/late season so much easier. Eric basically said no. I think they'd have to run the lift a lot slower and not load very many chairs.

Exactly. Eric knows his stuff. He's a good man. (Paramus NJ native btw).
So the question remains, how do you open this Saturday without access to the last 4 to 500 vert skiable? I guess you could walk down the blues and greens below Broadway or Easy Way.
You could load at the midstation and ski your day from midstation on up and then walk out at the end of the day? I'm just guessing here.
Sad to see them closing already. I was really looking forward to skiing there next week. Damn.
Borrow Win's cat! Cat skiing!!

Isn't there also some sort of issue with ski patrol, their ability to get a sled all the way down or something?
I'd love to get back up there Saturday for a free ski day (shareholder) but gotta admit the forecast toward the end of the week isn't looking promising ... although NWS-BTV now does mention this: .
FRIDAY NIGHT...RAIN SHOWERS LIKELY. SNOW SHOWERS LIKELY AFTER
MIDNIGHT. LITTLE OR NO SNOW ACCUMULATION. LOWS IN THE LOWER 30S.
CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION 60 PERCENT.
C'MON, get those temps down a little and we could have a pleasant surprise Saturday. More info from the Burlington forecast disco:
FIRST SYSTEM
WL IMPACT FA ON FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY WITH SEVERAL HRS OF RAIN EXPECTED.
BASED ON STG 850-700 WAA AND RIBBON OF 850-500MB MOISTURE...EXPECT
A PERIOD OF RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH WARM FRNT TO DEVELOP ON FRIDAY
AFTN. LATEST ECMWF IS SLIGHTLY STRONGER/DEEPER WITH SYSTEM AND

I skied at Mad River last friday-saturday and the snow is VERY thin at the base especially on Rockefellers, and the part of L Easyway where is faces south was nearly snowless.
