I thought it was cool that they had half-day pricing -- but allowed you to ski in the AM.

Great way to extend your Sunday River trip an extra half-day on the cheap.....

Pair it with 10$ off RideAndSki card, and 20$ for a morning of skiing works for me!

I wonder how they are doing after the fire.

I went on Sat -- First time ever -- so never saw the previous building. The temporary tent was pretty nice -- wooden picnic tables, lockers, dining area/bar, bathrooms seemed fine.
I'd probably go back, has some nice rock drops that look fun. Didn't get a chance to explore all terrain as it wasn't 100% open yet.

As far as how they are doing financially, not sure -- lift lines only a few times during the day, but typically most chairs on their main double-chair were full.

TR coming, haven't taken the pictures off of my camera yet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a new owner who just took over? Hope they make it. It is a nice alternative to SR.

Should be epic after the storm on Thursday. Certainly on my short list for a cheap powder day without crowds for Friday. But I may stick closer to home due to the length of the drive. I bet Friday will be a ripping day there.

I bet you're right. If I didn't have an appointment to have my cat's staples taken out from a recent surgery on Friday morning, I'd seriously be looking at heading there or Black (NH).

I have plans to ski Mt Abram this coming Saturday. In an ideal world my 1st day at Abram would be on a powder day but of course those are fleeting and I have a window where I can get up there this yr this coming wknd.
Also its a Ride and Ski 2 for 1 tour stop day so can't go wrong for $24.50 over a holiday wknd.

Tell me this: How will Abram recover from the thaw/free cycle? How much snow do they blow vs reliant on natural? It's a long drive to ski a couple icy groomers but if folks think the majority of the blue/groomed blacks will be a go then its worth it.

Coming from Portsmouth are there any shortcuts I should be aware of? Or just follow google maps off at Exit 63 and follow 26 up to the hill?

Can't answer many of your questions -- as I only went once last year for Ride and Ski's tour. It was on my calendar for this weekend, but I'm probably not going to make it this year. It looks like they still have a fair amount open, thats a pretty good sign. I'd check out the weather this week, and if theres a small natural refresh go for it! If things turn towards that killer powder day you were hoping for, I'll drop you a note and see you there! :)

I cut my teeth there back in the Jurassic. Great hill with surprising variety. I can't tell you about recovery time, but they should be getting around 4" today, and looking at snow depth maps they should still have a pretty good base under it.

A shortcut to save 5 minutes avoiding the Norway-South Paris strip: Going north on 26 through Oxford, wake up when you pass WalMart on your left. You want to take a right on Oxford Street just past the Paris Farmers Union. Oxford St. is your basic paved back road. Go straight 2 mi. or so until you hit a stop sign, then left on Rtes 117/119, East Main St. in South Paris. Cross a bridge and up a hill in beautiful downtown S. Paris, and you JCT 26. Go straight ahead on 26 north. You've skipped a cheap gas/fast food/pottie stop strip.

That's really the only shortcut. There are scenic alternate routes fabled in song and legend, but...
