Got a meeting in 10 minutes so I'll edit this later. Had to put the word out that Mt. Snow is rocking! Well worth the trip. Cut freshies all day as it snowed all day, heavy in the afternoon. 6-8" at 9:00am and at least, a few more during the day. Dropping ropes all day! Hated to leave it. Today would be awesome. Saturday should be a great day at Snow. I'll edit more later and fill a gallery this afternoon with more details. Here's a few quick picks.
Keith

Edit:
Nothing more to add. Words and even these pics don't do it justice.................... More pics in my gallery if anyone wants to see what yesterday was like.

Agreed. It did not suck.

Seemed to get better as the wind picked up later in the day, filling in the existing tracks. Hit uncles, freefall, ridge, and a bunch of others for the first time this season. Lots of reserved trails were probably feasible but I was flying solo so I did not partake.

Do they have much of the park open up there yet.

I don't know, but I bet they have a bunch of stuff going by now. They made a pretty big deal about getting a park setup right away when they opened for the season, so it seems like it's important to them.

I was pretty sure you skied within 3 feet of me as I was standing on the side of a trail with a couple buddies. I sort of yelled ROARK at you but I wasn't positive so it wasn't loud enough and you kept cruisin'. Knowing you were there I'm sure now it was you! Yes, the wind actually made like another snow storm and was filling voids everywhere. Great Day!

That's funny, I sort of had it in the back of my head to look for you but I've only seen a couple pics. Oh well, next time. :snow:

website says only chute will be groomed on the north face. freefall, challenger and pdf are enough to keep me happy.

i hope they don't flatten it all out...

You can expect Freefall or Chute to remain ungroomed, as well as all the other natural runs. As for the main runs, they would be dumb not to pack it down to build the base....

Sweet pics dude!

Last I heard they were finishing up the pieces in the Vermonster park, making snow on the half pipe, and the Gulch park was open but only as a trail at this point, with the park to be built this weekend.

Park's Open

Do they have much of the park open up there yet.

From the Mt. Snow website a few days ago:

Check websites. You'll find that Mount Snow's got the biggest and best selection of freestyle terrain in the East right now. Our Vermontster park has a dozen features, with more to be added this weekend. Park Rangers are readying the Jiblet park just below the Grand Summit, with a half dozen smaller features scheduled to open Saturday afternoon. Un Blanco Gulch, the East's first-ever terrain park (opened in 1992), is opening this weekend as a plain 'ol ski trail. That's because Rangers are rebuilding Vermontster early next week to make it even bigger, and then they'll turn their shovels loose on the Gulch, opening it for jibby-jib-fun-time next weekend.

Enjoy
