anyone have an update, looking to take the 4yr old skiing on Sunday (folks live in Glastonbury) looking at Sundown/Catamount..but Southington is 20 min away from their house....how are the conditions?

I haven't been to Southington (first place I ever skied!) in many years, but I think ypu will enjoy Sundown much more.

Southington wil be okay for the wee one, but you'll be bored to tears unless you plan on spending 100% of your time with the tyke.

Also, time-wise they're not as far apart as they may seem. I live on the Glastonbury line and it takes me almost 35-40 min to get to Southington, I can get to Sundown in 50-60.

Stopped by there today on my way home and they look to have decent conditions - will be just fine for your 4 YO.

Agreed. I was just assuming he wanted to ski on his own for a bit.

Grew up skiing PRidge (actually instructed there for a bit), never hit Sundown or Southington, my family always went to VT , Butternut, Jiminy etc.....trip isnt for me or the wife, just want to get her out turning for a few hours...just got back wed night from 5 days at Smuggs and the following weekend the wife and i are headed up to K/Pico alone!!! Might even hit Thunder Ridge for a few.....thanks all...

Looks like just about everything is open, it should be fine for a couple of hours with the little one.

I race there every Tuesday and conditions have been ok, are slowly getting better. It can be a bit redundant, but if you're just going for a couple hours with the kid it should be ok.
