Date(s) Skied: 3-9

Resort or Ski Area: Mt. Sunapee

Conditions: Dare I say powder?

Trip Report: After 55 and sun yesterday, I was suprised to wake up to snow. Went over to Sunapee at 1:00. Sun Bowl was closed due to wind, but there really wasn't any wind when I got there. Probably just too late in the day to bother opening it. Nice heavy snow, perfect for covering the ice, but a bit tough with mogul skis. Bumps on Flying Goose were actually pretty good, but the bulletproof was waiting in the troughs. There is a massive jump in the terrain park (left over from yesterdays big air comp). Funny how they close off the 2' high jumps in the moguls but they have an 8'+ (for realz) jump in the park. They ended up with ~6".

I was in Maine Sunday (no skiing involved). The last scheduled event at Sunapee is 4/12, but they should be open later than that. The last day I skied there last year was 4/19.

They usually try and stay open to the middle of April. The last two years they went into the third week of April.

As Puck it said they stay open until mid/late April. There seems to be a pretty decent base on the trail but the recent precipitation probably negated any gains from Monday's snow.

I don't remember the bumps being that good at the end of last season. Looks like relatively cold temperatures until the middle of next week. I'll probably check it out then.

Goose had pretty much full coverage on the 19th last year, but was 'troughed out'; wicked jarring. Liftline in the Sunbowl was perfect though.

Last season the sunbowl lift had problems near the end of the season, they closed off all the trails that was service by they lift, liftline included. Kind of surprised they fixed it so late into it but they did. That made bumps in liftline alot better than goose.... sometimes thats true during the regular season.Although it's on a tamer pitch, the lines are preserved and troughs are smoother.

That's what I figure, it might be a good time for me to head over to sundown this w/e. Goose would be brutal when the bumps are hard granular.
