In my dream it’s summer and I’m at the Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid watching Olympic hopefuls train. An announcement comes over the loud speaker that the pool will be open to the general public the rest of the day. With great excitement my son and I run into a locker room to change into our bathing suits. When we get back the pool is open, but no skis are allowed and you have to slide down in your bare feet.
We get in line (seems like a water park now) to go off the small jump. Everyone is slipping, falling, etc. on the way down. My son and I both make it, but the jump is small and we can’t get much air.
We get back in the crowded line for the small jump. I see that there is no line at all for the second jump and I ask the attendant way? He says it is open, but extremely dangerous in your bare feet. I think to myself I have to try it otherwise I’ll be embarrassed to write I only did the small one in my AZ trip report. At the top it looks scary, but again I think of the trip report and down I go. It’s a struggle not to fall and as I make it to the top of the jump I do fall and go head first down into the pool. As I’m swimming back up to the surface somehow I can hear a mother asking about the possibility of having her kid’s birthday party here. I wake up.
All that to set up this question. Have you ever done anything skiing just because you wanted to be able to post it in AZ? Examples: ski a certain trail, hit a jump, be able to write you finally went to MRG, demoed a certain pair of skis, etc.
When I take pictures while skiing, the main reason I do it is to post the good ones here and at SKIADK. Other then that I can’t remember ever consciously doing anything just so I could post here that I had done it, but maybe I have because that’s what came out in the subconscious of my dream.
