Takeru Kobayashi takes Nathan's Hot Dog eating championship for the sixth straight year with 53 3/4 hot dogs. However an American Joey Chestnut comes close to taking it with 52 hot dogs.Joey, had the lead most of the way through the contest.

I was tempted to go this afternoon. Yep .... Joey Jaws didn't have the legs in the end. I thought the U.S. was going to reclaim the title. Guess we have to wait another year for that.

The boy gave Kobayashi a run for his money, Wasn't off by much.

He sure did but he looked like he was going to be sick in the end. Kobayashi just kept chugging along like it was his first Hotdog. I love the coverage ESPN gives on it. They cover it like it's the World Series.

Yeah, I watched that, it was funny when they compared Kobayashi to Lance Armstrong :)

they put the "stats" up about the daily intake of carbs, fat, sodium etc before the contest. what you get if you eat 52 hotdogs. It was, obviously, disgusting. the carb intake was something like 750% of the recommeded daily allowance. the fat and sodium was absolutely off the chart. but the thing that had me rolling in laughter was the fact that this is overseen by the IFOCE. The International Federation of Competitive Eating. lol. i guess this is serious stuff.

I love how they refer to it as if it is a sport. They talk about all of the training that goes into it like these are athletes at the top of their game.

I sell food processing equipment...sell alot to packing houses.

Knowing what's in hot dogs makes it simply impossible for me to watch this event.
