Is it sad that I want to Okemo just to see this thing in action? I love gadgets, especially when they have to do with lifts. 8)

You don't need to goto Okemo to check one out. You can do it on one of your Mount Snow trips too!

Here's a pic of the install of one on the Grand Summit Express.

BTW, I'm starting to realize that under Peak Resorts, Mount Snow never just does off season upgrades, they just keep adding new upgrades(both on and off hill) all year round :)

it looks like the timming is way off in the clip.

I think maybe this conveyor is different than some of the others in videos on this thread. Could it be that with the conveyor at Mt Snow the skier is deposited on a stationary surface before being picked up by the chair? It looks like that to me.

Rode one at Breck last year. Scary. I've ridden all sorts of lifts, and I'd be happy to self-load on a FG at 550fpm... but these conveyors don't do it for me!

Probably effective, however, for first-timers.

KOOL an adult Pizza Loader....Have we as Americans become that lazy?

Actually they're all over the place in Europe - Once people figure it out it owrks OK BUT getting On/Off can be intersting for newbies.... Kinda like stepping onto an escalator w/ skis on. Bring your camers for the pile ups !

that sorta defeats the purpose

Well...what's the purpose? It's a detachable HSQ, so it doesn't help to have people moving on the belt as they're scooped up. I know from skiing with my kids that the hardest part of loading a lift for them is the "race" from the front of the line to the point where one stands and waits for the chair to scoop you up. The conveyor will certainly help in that regard.

I'll be interested to try both of these. Especially Okemo's unloading carpet, that thing is scary just thinking about it.

I would like to try both as well. I don't get the point of the unloading conveyor at all. I'm also not sure I see the value of a loading conveyor on a detachable lift...
