Picked it up at the grocery store today.

"Premier Issue"

Appears to be a sking/boarding mag.

Haven't spent any time on it yet. What I saw in the check-out line looked pretty good.

There was already a post about this a while back...

Side note: From what I saw, I wasn't really a big fan.

Seemes like a great idea. Sure a trip to Europe or out west seems exciting...but there's lots of good access here in the Northeast.

Sorry I missed the earlier post about the mag.

wasn't the mag posted about before N'east? i don't remember hearing about a snow east mag. then again, new england regional style mags seem like they are pretty hard to get off the ground but have no shortage of attempts. sounds like something worth checking out though.

My wife doesn't mind my buying ski magazines because I read them cover to cover, twice. I think during the winter, they should come out weekly. I welcome another magazine, especially an east coast themed one. The Meatheads must be rubbing off on the media types. The more the merrier.

it often amazes me how little media the northeast gets. there are a lot of dedicated northeast only skiers/riders that are clamoring for media in all flavors about the northeast. unfortunately, the only advertizers willing to put up the money on a national level are places out west and gear companies won't bother with a regional magazine when they could have national exposure. it's terrible for the end user of the product, but media consumers in many ways can not help control content or direction of many forms of media such as newspapers and magazines unless a huge and dedicated base of media users can make demands enough for an advertizer to respond to.

hopefully you are right, rossiskier. the meatheads are definitely showing that regional attention is badly needed here in new england and that people will turn away from more national and international outfits if a good local product is produced. here's to more media coverage for the new england ski scene!

Yeah I was thinking of the other one probably.

Although I may be thinking of the one that rivercoil mentioned, the magazine seemed to give very generic descriptions aimed at tourists. It felt like they were right from the marketing departments of the respective mountains. That's not the kind of ski writing I want to see about the East. I agree that a well-done magazine on the East is in order.

Eastern Slopes looked like it had promise, but never got off the ground...
