My wife and daughter have plans Friday night so i'm free to take my son out for a night of skiing. I haven't skied at night in a very long time and was wondering what the crowds were like on a Friday night. Can anyone give an opinion on how crowded Sundown or Mohawk might be this Friday 3/9?

If I wasn't so lazy I would create a link. But a few of us are trying to meet up on Wed. or Thurs., maybe even Friday. Check the Trips and Events section.

I've skied at Sundown at least 5 or 6 nights, mostly Wednesdays. If there are school groups they usually clear out around 6:00. By 7:30 the place typically thins out. 9-10 is a blast. Sundown has some bumps set up.

I only skied Mohawk once this season an it was night. Place was empty but it was early in the season when they were trying to keep snow on the ground.

Alot of the local places hold a Boys & Girls club night on Fridays that causes a good amount of traffic; not sure if Sundown does, but I'd check the site to see if they have any events lined up just to be safe.

I've only been to Mohawk a handfull of times at night over the last few years, it was never crowded. I think the school groups are done at Sundown, so they shouldn't be crowded either. Not that last night is the norm, but there was at most 20 people on the whole mountain at one time.

Paul, what happened? You injured?

Yep, broke my tibia and fibula three weeks ago. Also completely ruptured my acl in my right knee. Getting the Patellar tendon autograft done in 2 weeks. Doc said I should play it safe and not do anything too physical (ski) for a year after the surgery. So, this season's long since in the toilet, and next season ain't looking too promising either...

bummer. I've got an injured left knee, but it prolly won't require surgery. Hang in there.

Yep. I'm hanging. I saw your post on your knee. Seems strange to say that you got off "lucky":???: I know it doesn't feel that way.
