Know what an expert is?

Someone who used to be a spurt.

I agree with Castlerock. If it is what you want, it is a no brainer. If it is an offer you can't refuse... :-?

Skiing shouldn't really be an issue. Giving up parts of two seasons is really nothing. The question is what are you trading it for. :-?

Here's some AZ blasphemy - there are a lot more important things than skiing.

You have been provided with a lot of input here that you will ignore at your peril. PLEASE believe the guys over 40 who are advising you to go for the education. Someday you will be one of the over-40 guys and will give the same advice to a 20-something person who needs to hear it. But by then you will be living in a prosperous and secure future that will afford you lots of options, skiing being one of them. It sounds like you have a wonderful and fortunate opportunity - make the most of it.

Yeah, its the ones over 40, saying I wish I had done things differently back when i was in my 20's......and now can't turn the clock back...... So yeah, I'm sure most of the advice given here by the over 40 crowd is wishing they had different opportunities given them, but here's the cards we're dealt, so we deal with what we have. Best of luck, I'm sure you'll make the best choice that you want for yourself. Just remember you can't redo your youth.

Take the education.

Take it from me, having the financial capability to some day introduce your children to skiing will give you more pleasure than a couple of seasons of skiing now.

Take it from an "old" man .. take the offer. You will just have to plan more for the ski trips so you won't be totally without skiing for the 2 years. If you have the talent for this field you should not waste an opportunity to further yourself in it.

I have to agree, especially since it sounds like you'll be getting the education for free (mostly). I am sure there are many people my age (41) or close who are still paying off student loans. The mountains will be there when you get out, and I grew up in the midwest, so while there's not NO skiing, it's not the east, and definitely not the west coast. But I could make the occasional trip up to the UP and ski for a weekend.
Take the offer, you'll look back in 10 years, hell even 5 and wish you had. Good luck with your decision.

This guy knows whereof he speaks. And I don't even have any kids.

No doubt....grab the education deal. There's a huge character-building componenet to "delayed gratifiaction".

Don't think twice about this one.
