There was a coronal mass ejection yesterday, and the particles are irradiating us right now. You can see the current activity here. As of just a few moments ago, I had word that faint colors were visible on the northern horizon as far south as the latitude of Burlington, VT.

I wish I didn't have a bad cold and so far to drive to get a good, dark view...

Gee, I missed your post and forgot all about it. Here is a good place to watch it as there is no lights to brighten the sky. There will another and I'll take a pic and post it. Maybe my new avatar

Yes, that one really is a beauty!! I've seen so many and have never taken a pic yet. It probably is about time to capture just one.

Someday I hope to get a glimpse of them.

I don't remember if it was last year or the year before, but a teammate on my softball team got a couple snaps of the lights way down south here in Rochester, NH.
