Look, any person buying a lift ticket is getting in the way of the Ops crew doing their jobs. It'd be so much easier to take care of the mountain if we could groom during the daylight, move guns around whenever, not worry about taking snowmobiles out on crowded trails to get where we need to go, not shut down or move snowmaking during the daytime...

And yet somehow we put up with 'em.

You forgot the Great Northern Local Stinkbug - hostile to outsiders bringing money to their communities, thinks they are better than everyone else because of where they happened to be born

Well done.

I think way too much is made of the native / Local people and thier attitudes. I was let into the local scene within one year here are sugarbush. People are really great and friendly and I now count many "local" people as really close friends. Maybe that is just sugarbush but that is and was my experience. I think that if you have a shity attitude and people sence it then you get what you give. I will admit that the only types at sugarbush that rub me the wrong way are some of the racer kids and families over at North. I have had a couple of bad experiences but by no means is that a general sentiment. Just a few bad eggs I ran into.

racer families are consistently the worst most entitled people at a ski area, in my experience. and i notice and feel that the most at mount ellen of all places. they really think they own the place and its quite annoying.

but pretty sure urungus was just targeting granite because granite is a douchebag.

some jackson locals were downright hostile to tourists when i was there 2 weeks ago. for first chair, the first 6 or so chairs line up in the 'main lane' leading to the chair, and then people file into the actual parallel lanes where they then queue all day. i got there early and was in the first 6, lets say chair 5, i joined a group of 3 local bro-brahs. this family got in the first spot of the regular lanes, and then insisted that me and the bro-brahs needed to alternate them in. this is against Jackson first chair custom and tradition. these guys ripped this family to shreds. total verbal assault. i actually loved it. 'go back to your fucking woke ass city'. lol

in slc i notice a lot of people with anti-ikon stickers and stuff on their gear, and it makes me lol. i truly think utah blames the tourists for their own problems. ikon does give an absurd amount of access to utah skiing. but the crowds are because utahans have ikon passes. not because of tourists with ikon passes. multiple mid-week non-holiday powder day clusterfucks proved this to me. so yea, i get the gripe with ikon, but i don't get the gripe with out of towners. out of towners have always skied in utah. ikon has made it much easier for casual skiers who live in utah to ski utah all the time, causing crowding.

That whole valley collectively calls in sick when it snows and pretty much all of them are from somewhere else. Yeah ikon is a problem because you have a rapidly growing local population that has an all you can eat buffet of fantastic skìng. If I lived in slc I would totally have an ikon it's a no brainer but once upon a time you picked your area and that was it. Day tickets bought from ski shops were a steal back then...now not so much.

Invasions from the south are always the worst. those chicadas sleep for 4 years then bother me.

Stink bugs can be very aggressive. Emerald ash borers have me quit cross.

We had the UNH Ski Team Bus towed when they parked in front of the Ambulance bay for 2 hours on a Sat. YES, they were told to move it....
Tow truck broke down w/ bus attached, Bus and all its racers were stranded
Coach was a total AHole, so we didn't really go out of our way.....

Nice story, when they asked where the bus was I hope you said "what bus?" Then accused him of insurace fraud.
Somtimes, it's nice to twist the knife.

Actually, it was one of the belligerent douchebag racers who came in and demanded to know "who the fuck moved our bus ?"
We just pointed to the sign and gave them the directions and #.

U still dose?
I do not know what "U still dose?" means. If I do not know what "U still dose?" means, I do not know Black Phantom. I have never heard of Black Phantom. Is Black Phantom a locust? It sounds terrible....I might have nightmares????

Given I didn’t axe you little man and you can’t answer, I’ll take that as a no.

I do not know this type of locust. Do they swarm to Southern New England ski areas, crowding their slopes-lift lines-hotels-bars-restaurants and highways?

The city of Boston, major sports venues and southern New England beaches all attract a crap load of Northern New England folk.

Hell the casinos in Massachusetts exist purely because studies showed how many Northern New England people were going to Foxwooods and Mohican.

Again, you are a Boston suburbanite yourself. Quit flexing like your some mountain man when you are from Manchester. You look like a total poser doing so.

I used to work in the private transportation industry and I couldn't believe how bad the demanding, entitled, narcissistic customer base was. The owner of the company always said "The customer is always right." I fought with him constantly about this. His mantra was "It's easier to get new employees than new customers." That was 8 years ago. Now, he claims he is losing millions of $ turning work away each year because no one wants to works for him. I wonder why?

But in this case, it was the bus driver's fault for not doing the right thing. Blocking an emergency exit is a stupid douchebag move no matter how "special" your passengers are.

Reminds me of another of my pet peeves. Why do BMW drivers think the sign that says No parking fire hydrant is pronounced BMW parking only?

I'm glad it's not just me that noticed this. I used to give them some slack because they're adolescents and kids are clueless sometimes. But after many unpleasant encounters with these jerks I ignore them. Except when I'm stuck on a chair with them. I almost never use the safety bar alone but always bring it down when racers are on. Listening to them whine and pout always brings a smile to my face. Don't get mad, get even.
