Since resorts in the NE are starting to open I just wanted to mention that most of the resorts out west, there are a few exceptions, are not doing very well. Most of the resorts around Lake Tahoe have postponed their openings and the forcast does look too good at the moment.
The only real exceptions are Whistler and a few resorts in CO, although Steamboat is only 5% open and Vail 20% with 12" of coverage. In Utah, they are doing ok but PC is only 5% open and the Canyons 6%. Keep in mind some resorts out west, for business reasons, do not open, until Dec.
At the moment, nationally, the NE is looking pretty good and proving once again that massive investments in snowmaking is worth it.
I'm hoping that everyone will be getting lots of snow this winter
