2 games in and I'm fairly disgusted already.

The Giants are pathetic. What happened to their defense? It's horrible! Coughlin has to go. The players hate him, it's obvious. If they fire him now, what are the odds that they can talk Tiki out of retirement?

The Jets are going to have trouble if Pennington can't play for a while. Clemens isn't ready yet.

Jets have a better shot at a decent season than the Giants. Mangini is a good coach and the players buy into his program.

Giants are a total mess.

Stick to the baseball Jim, for the first time in awhile i think we can have sub .500 teams in NY , bills included. Shockey is a jackass, smacking the ball around for a penalty when it was still close, Eli will never be as accurate as his brother, Pennington has no arm, ya i know some quarterbacks didnt have a cannon for an arm (Montana) but umm he had hall of famers with him and was accurate. On a side note it was nice to see Philly and those degenerate fans go down at home last night.

Both the NY coaches are lousy. Coughlin should have been gone a while ago and Mangini is a traitor/rat. Lucky if either team hits .500.

Of course I'm a Pats fan who luckily has the best team in the league - cheating or not...

Players make the team a consistant winner or loser. Coaches help foster the attitude of the team but without the right players a good coach will still lose.

One play sticks out in my mind to sum up the giants. Al Harris locked up in tight man coverage on toomer who is lined of off the line of scrimmage. Toomer crosses the line and Harris gives him a chuck and puts him on his back. That pretty much sums up the giants players.

He came from the Pats.

If you had spoken to Rushski about Mangini before he was with the Jets he would be drooling all over you trying to spit out all the praise he had for the guy.

This I do not agree with, most particularly in football and specifically the NFL.

Barber retired rather than play for Coughlin. He hated the guy. So do the rest of the Giants. They don't even listen to him anymore. The guy tries to coach like it's the 1950's. Mr. Discipline and his team is the most undisciplined one out there. That's on the coach.

So are things like unpreparedness, poor game planning, and non-existant defense. Coughlin has to go, the sooner the better.

Ok so I will make it easy for you. Name 5 to 10 players on the J-E-T-S or Giants that you would rather have over thier comparable Patriot counter parts.

Ditto on that but I don't think there is anyway Tiki is coming out of retirement. Taking aside the fact that he contractually cannot leave his plum TV job, would you return to end your career on a total bummer. No way, Jose' :D

I'm a Pats fan, but you can say the same thing for Bellichek leaving the Jets for NE. Coaches have to move on to new opportunities and to call someone a traitor for taking a good job and advancing his career is dumb.

I'm a pats fan also. The rumor from the media sources is that mangini left the pats organization in bad terms; trying to recruit internal staff while interviewing for the Jets job. It is believed that he purposely made a bid for deon branch only to increase his value which was internally set by the pats organization, information he was privileged to while a staff member in the pats organization. The bid was not to get him in team but to prevent Branch from resigning with the pats.

This latest incident with the vid camera might came back to bite Mangini. Billick is calling out the Jets for using an illegal snap count on defense. Time will tell if coaches are going to pile up on him.

In terms of Coughlin, I was never sold on him when he was in Jacksonville. The combination of Coughlin and Manning could set this team back for a decade.

here's the bottom line:

The Pats were blatently violating an NFL rule on the sideline during the Jets/Pats game.

Need I say anything more?

Not exactly, maybe from many Pats fans. Bellichick wanted him to get a couple more years as an assistant before becoming a head. So for me It's more about his disloyalty.

Not too mention for some odd reason there is a rivalry there. The Jets have supposedly had potential for a few years now, but obvioulsy have not even come close to living up to it. Maybe they can get Bledsoe out of retirement...

Not arguing that fact. btw the niners and broncos was fined for voilating the salary cap shortly after thier championship runs.

Back to Mangini, I think Bellicheck is mad in the way he left not the fact he left. Using company secrets is a big no-no even in non NFL matters. I work in high tech, I have been legally harassed for recruiting former co workers. I have seen big lawsuits where former employees have stolen IP. IMO, same principle applies between Bellichek and Mangini.

Disloyalty? He learned from the master.

Remember, Belichick bolted from the Jets after being given the Head Coaching job by Parcells. This bad blood between the Jets and the Pats has been going on since Parcells left the Pats and Kraft went on a vendetta to get even.

But I'm not really a Jets fan, more a Giants fan so my suffering will endure all season. At least the Jets have a chance to win some games and the soap opera they provide is entertaining to say the least.
