Anyone here running any of the new-fangled races they are running this year?

The two I know of are http://toughmudder.com/events/new-england/mount-snow-course-map-2011/ - Mt. Snow, 10 miles long, May 7th/8th. For this one I'm thinking too long (for me), still cool weather for some of the obstacles, likely still some snow on the slopes and too much upward vertical (again, for me).

The other is http://www.warriordash.com/register2011_new_england.php - Th etubing park in Amesbury off 495, 3 miles long, June 25th/26th?. Definitely more my speed as it's further removed from tghe ski season, will be warmer and is much shorter.

Thoughts?

I ran the Rugged Maniac in Southwick MA at the motorcross track last fall. Cool race, not quite as "tough" us the one they look like they're doing at Mt. Snow. Was only a 5k and I'd say a bit shorter than a true 5k. Liked the experience.

If I'm still alive, I'll let everyone know how Tough Mudder at Mount Snow was, as I'm starting in the 9:30AM group on Saturday the 7th!

BTW, Tough Mudder at Mount Snow has sold out all 7,000 starting spots on Saturday, and just has a couple of hundred spots left for a full sell out of another 7,000 starting spots on Sunday! This is going to be a HUGE event for Mount Snow and the greater Deerfield Valley, especially for the usually very slow time of early May. I know that hotel/room bookings for that weekend in the Mount Snow are filling up fast too. Mountsnowfish did a GREAT job at landing this big event!

My wife and I will be there to cheer on drjeff. If he's not able to post, I'll provide an update. He may still be twitching from the elctrical zapping.

I saw the warrier dash at Windham last summer. (They are having it again this year.)

They had about 20,000 people over 2 days pay $80 to jump over fire, crawl through mud, slide in mud, crawl over fences .......

Huge party and cheap beer. Worth going just to watch.
