Okemo's snow report says snowmaking will begin on Monday to prepare for a November 5th opening. However, Killington yesterday said "It is still too warm."

Obviously, if's it's cold enough at Okemo, it should be cold enough at Killington who has like an extra thousand feet of height. However, it would probably take Killington less time if they start blowing up the top soon. This could be a battle of openings.

By the way, Bretton Woods says November 6th and Sunday River is in the mix somewhere too. Reguardless, it should be less than 2 weeks before we're skiing at some place.

Remember last year when Killington said nothing until 3 days before opening? They are a sneaky bunch when it comes to opening. Plus, Okemo's opening was delayed 5 days last year.

Belleayre in New York State is also anticipating an opening day of November 6th, while Hunter is anticipating an opening on November 20th!!!! If all works out as planned I hope to ski at Belleayre on the 6th. Last year Belleayre was the first resort opened in the state.

Right now accuweather.com is forecasting a snow/rain storm for the weekend of the 5-6th of November, with marginal snowmaking weather
preceding the storm, but it is still two weeks away and alot can change :D

dont count on any of this. I have looked at the week ahead, and it will simply not be cold enough and the beginning of November looks warm as well.

We do this every year to ourselves with the openings, patience is still the best policy.

As i figured, Okemo pulled back and now there site only says they hope for November 5.

What a joke that they thought they could make snow this week before anyone else.
