Actually K opened on 10/29/05 (they closed again a few days later until the official opening)

That weekend has become known as the Magical Mystery Weekend at KZone. I unfortunately wasn' there but my wife was... :-(

That's right, they opened on the 29th with 22 trails and had 40 trails on the 30th. More pics here: http://killingtonaccessrd.com/cpg/thumbnails.php?album=14

Wildcat was essentially all open, as well. Added bonus- one of the lifts crapped out about 2.30 or 3 (when we were exhausted, anyway), adn they gave vouchers for a free day. 10/31 skiing, for free. Can't beat that with a stick.

Man why can't this year be like that...

I'm glad this year isn't like that. Those two days in October were as good as it got. I'll take a delayed opening if it means not watching pouring rain fall on a 60 degree January day.

That was an awesome weekend though -- thanks for the memories Joshua!

which is why i believe this year has been a better october/pre-season than last year. whether we get more snow or not, i will likely have skied almost three weeks on the snow pack that has been put down throughout late october before all is said and done.
