Area skied: Pico, Vermont

Date skied: March 17th, 2007 from 11:15am to 3:00pm

Surface conditions: Cut up powder, limited powder with a slight icy crust.

Weather: Cloudy with in and out freezing fog and light flurries, 22F.

After a 70 mile drive from Mount Snow, we arrived at Pico after a 1H 30 minute drive over icy roads with freezing drizzle 90% of the way to Pico. We where pleasantly suprised that the precipitation changed to light flurries as we made our way up Shelburne Pass.

Our first run was down Bushwacker to the Summit Express Quad and down Summit Glades/Summit Glade West wich had nice soft moguls with a bit of ice from the old snowcover under the roughly 12" of new snow.

Forty Niner was next and it was mostly cut up soft snow with mini moguls in spots. We skied cut accross from Forty Niner on Easy Street to Birch Woods and then down Lower Pike to the Little Pico Triple. We skied A Slope which had piles of soft snow between the moguls on the steeper part of the top of the trail. Warren had fun in the powder and we skied down Upper Home Run which had alot of loose powder snow.

Warren wanted to ski off the Knomes Knoll Triple Chair for the first time and we choose Sundowner which had alot of soft snow and moguls with a few thin and bare spots. Our next runs where Prospector, which had a large drift of snow on skiers right to Expressway/Ace Of Clubs and Fools Gold to the summit chair.

Our last run was a top to bottom on Upper/Mid/Lower KA with lots of soft powder bumps and a worn out 7 year old in tow. It's nice to know his old man can still wear him out.
