Cornhead and I skied Plattekill today Sat. 3/12/16. Warm, clear, sunny, bluebird day. Skiing was just Great. Excellent spring conditions. It was their St. Platty's Day celebration. It was also passholders day from other ski areas - if you showed a seasons pass from another area you got 1 free lift ticket. They had huge plates of corned beef, cabbage and all the fixings for $12.

Great day at Platty, hiked to ski Blockbuster a couple times, hey Laszlo, where was the mule? That's OK, Upper Face was the run of the day, nice soft groomed corn in the morning, soft corn bumps in the afternoon. Thank you Platty for the free day for other mountain season pass holders, much appreciated.

So sad. I didnt even get there once this season, and it's one of my favorite places.

Saturday was my only visit to Platty this year. I recall a couple spectacular 18" days last year, hopefully we'll get some next year. I was longing for Upper Face Sunday, I made the mistake of not hitting Greek till after noon. The only trail open was Iliad. It was a combination of water and slush atop a thin base. I made 3 runs, stopped at the office to pay for next year's pass, and headed for home.
