Poll: Do you goto your "home" resort in the summer??

Just curious if folks make the treck to their "home" mountain when the mountain is all green and snowless??

Well I'm calling Wachusett my home mtn for now, so yes. It's a nice place for a quick hike and they have various "fests" as the summer goes on. I also go to the Labor Day and Columbus day sales and swaps.

The Sunday River crew gets together for a hike and grill at least once a summer. It's nice to see what your favorite trail looks like with grass and rocks. I might try mountain biking up there this year. They say that the MTB trails are good pow stashes in winter. =)

Been homeless for the past few seasons. Next year Ragged will be my home mountain, but I don't have any designs on heading up there this summer.

I'm all about the water in the summer time. So, if I were to ever truly have a home mountain (own real estate) I would first off have to A. receive a massive unexpected cash winfall and B. find a mountain home near a lake. I'd rather be lakeside and driving to skiing than slope side and driving to the lake.

It's pretty unfortunate, but in New England, the skiing options within twenty minutes of a decent lake are pretty poor.

We are working on a 4th of July thing. Will keep you posted. I make the fall festival,memorial day weekend and the 4th. I may sneak another couple of weekends in if I can.

Yes, both my home mountains, Cannon and Loon. Hike Cannon from various trials multiple times in the summer. I use some of the maintenance roads at Loon to hike/bike.

It is pretty neat to use 'your' mountain year round.

Well, the country all around the Sugarloaf-Bigelows-Saddleback areas is indeed spectacular, but when I do visit...have to admit it's mostly a social excursion. All of the territory up in the deep woods from Greenville on up(both East and West sides) I know pretty well, not even including the Katahdin Range...is just too nice to pass up..although I think I should be making more social excursions to meet human beings..LOL..
I love canoeing the pristine cold waters(mostly ponds/bogs/smaller streams)...combined with hikes to check out territory...and encountering wildlife there keeps me from Sugarloaf & Saddleback areas too much to call myself anykind of Sugarloaf/Bigelows/Saddleback regular.

I should have qualified within 2.5 hours of me. There are some decent lakes near Okemo and Killington. Waterbury Reservoir near Stowe used to be killer, but you couldn't have lake front property. Jay has perhaps the best combo with Lake Membperhmeangougaulogdog right near by :lol:

Don't have a home "resort". Got a home ski area though. I usually hike around Sundown once each summer. Maybe I'll check if it's okay to ride the MTB around.

i spend about three weeks each summer in lake placid, so, yes, i spend quite a bit of time at my "home" resort. there's just so much to do up there in the summer, even more than in winter. the weather's perfect (most houses don't have AC), the hiking, water skiing, mountain biking, golfing, and bbq'ing are great, so, yes, it's good to be up there. usually make it to WF once or twice to hit the MB trails, ride the gondola for the views, hike or drive to the summit (all depending on what type of family outing is planned).
