Where's the boilerplate and/or ice option?

Spring bumps: increase your speed, shed some layers, keeps it fun when every other trail is groomed or closed.

Powder: increase you speed, master the elements with high tech materials, makes the whole mountain fun.

I'll take either.

I'll choke on powder any day over any other outdoor, athletic activity in this world. Literally. Period. Bar none.

That said, there isn't much better than a nice, warm, bluebird, spring day with some top notch corned up bumps....with the exception of ........Choking on some Powder.

There is a certain relativeness to the issue. Tracked out 6" is really good but not as good as blue bird spring corn bumps. Give me an untracked foot of fresh any day, that owns compared to pretty much anything else I can think of because of how rare and how hard you have to work for that foot of fresh untracked. Whereas spring corn bumps on a blue bird day there really is no competition, no hunting, no need to work for it, get up early, know the mountain well, milk it, etc. You can ski spring bumps relaxed all day and get lots of laps. Untracked Powder? Better be quick and better know where to go after the second or third run when everything is already tracked up and most people still haven't even bought a lift ticket yet.

Where's the day after powder day option? Powder days and spring days are both nice, but for me they're both only good in the afternoon. I personally like to be able to see the Volkswagens on Outer Limits when I'm skiing through them, and it takes a few hours to get decently tracked out. Spring, it needs to warm up some before it's not bone chattering. The day after a 10"+ dump, however, the bumps are still 99% as soft as the day of, and I've got a full day with 'em.

powder day hands down. Big spring bumps are sweet, but come now where near the feeling of deep pow. If I had my way, it would be waist deep all the time.

A powder day wins hands down. It just does. I'll define powder day as that which floats my skis so I don't feel the base. There is no noise.

However, no one has mentioned powder filled bumps as being fun. Not one or the other - both together! Soft, ski by braille, float, flex, breathe, repeat. Sure, you can't see em all coming, but that keeps the traffic down and your adrenalin up.

I've experienced that once or twice, what a blast it was! Really keeps things interesting when you can't see the bumps coming. :D
