Each year around President's week our extended family (4 grandkids , their parents and my wife and i ) meet up to ski several venues in New England. as an extended road trip.
SO I 've been eavesdropping on Wachusett threads for a while, since we were going to stay with our my daughter and son in law and 2 of our grandkiddies in the greater Boston area for a few days on our way to several areas in NH then finishing closer to home yesterday in the Dacks
Since we knew that the day crowds at WAWA would be murder that week we decided to give nite skiing a shot .Never having skied at all at nite ,i expected the worst, however WAWA delivered the goods last monday , wednesday and and thursday nites .
Even my son and his family who came up from Manhattan were duly impressed .We mostly ski greater vert and exclusively in the day time
Nine of us had a great time @ WAWA each nite . The conditions were really good , lighting was superb and on monday and wednesday nites there were no lift lines at all. Upper Smith-Walton and 10th were awesome and later in the evening after bombing the Upper 's we played in the rollers off Hickock and Franny's bonking off the bumps til lites out
Now i appreciate Nite skiing -- especially during president's week
Wawa was more than expected --its on yearly schedule now as a permanant site for this adventure.
When the crew returned to work Monday, my wife and i finished up the trip with stops at Whiteface and the last 2 days in bluebird conditions with hero snow @ Titus closer to home .
