Trip #: 9
Report: I wanted to hit something a little different today, and I hadn't been to Ragged for a while so I decided on a half day ticket and going to Ragged. I had the longer boards today so I stuck to the groomed stuff, but what was groomed was wicked sweet. Did multiple laps on the 6-Pack with many a GS turn on Exhibition. Checked out Flying Yankee on Spear Mountain a bunch of times with good results. The only gladed run on the mountain that was open was Raggae Glades, but again I opted to stay out due to the longer boards. Birches and Sweepstakes were open with thin cover, and looked pretty good from what I could see.
I talked with a patroller on the way the Spear Mountain lift and they said that they hit the woods earlier that day and based on some of the gouges in his skis, they determined that the woods aren't quite ready yet to be opened. He hit Pel's Pass, and said it was negotiable, but not quite ready yet. Managed 15 runs for the afternoon with 14,670' of vertical.
