Are you intimating that as a result of what I said on Alpine Zone or by virtue of the quote you supplied from the BFP? I was responding to the earliest mention of the sale contained within that thread which, I think, was your suggestion that a buy-back was in play. I think I also called out, specifically, the notion that Boyne was involved.

Sounds like you are denying not only the buy-back but also the entire notion of a sale Steve. Or am I misreading this?

From the Burlington Free Press...

"The sale price of the four-season resort was not disclosed, said Steve Wright, Jay Peak’s vice president of sales and marketing....Stenger and long-time Jay Peak homeowner Ariel Quiros have been working on developing the sale and a transition plan since the early fall of 2007, resort spokeswoman Emilie Starr said. “

So....

Riding the lift this morning with a local, he made a comment then Jay is no longer owned by the Canadians but was just sold to a Florida firm. I asked him if he was mistaken and was talking about Burke instead. He said no. His girl friend works in the hotel and has seen all the buyers come through and also gets her info from Bill Stenger. He did not what the name of the Florida firm was.

I'd want action with the guy laying odds that we're being sold off.

Steve,

The original mention of the sale was just that Jay was sold nothing else. Reading into your quotes here you do not deny the sale but one would assume the sale was not happening which made this thread die pretty quickly.

I'll be crystal clear.

I'm saying that you denied talks of a sale of Jay Peak. Your exact quote states that we here on AlpineZone were, in fact, right. I'm also saying that there was "talk" of a buy-back. Obviously, it didn't happen.

This forum is a free exchange of rumors, speculation and experiences. You coming in wearing the badge of "industry rep" and denying what some know as rumor but others know of fact only to later be quoted in the paper saying "Oh yeah, this was in the works since Fall, 2007" does you no justice.

Looks like, in addition to your efforts to "steal skiers from 'Bush" you accidentally stole the Bush Administration's definition of "facts".

Mission Accomplished!

Phil, thanks for the clarity. Right, wrong or indifferent my intent was to diffuse the suggestion that a lease-buy/back, any relationship to a Boyne sale and a multi-resort pass thereof was not the case. If I was less than forthcoming about the potential for any sort of sale, it was unintentional and I apologize. Congrats on breaking the news.

Not that I've taken advantage of it over the past ?.....13 years. *Holy Moley* I wonder if Jay will continue to participate in the "Mountains of Distinction" program that would allow me (if I ever got off my arse and did the drive) flash my Wachusett pass and get a 50% discount on the lift tix?

Sorry I missed this one...

Sorry I missed this one. Yes, the MOD discount will still apply and the Other Mtn Season Passholder discount (along with the unrestricted Vermonter discount) will as well.
