Date(s) Skied: April 3, 2010

Resort or Ski Area: Saddleback

Conditions: Spring - Corn to Taters

Trip Report: Although Saddleback closes April 11, it was the last day of the year for the Salsgang clan at Saddleback. Very Warm - mid 70's. Super soft corn bumps til afternoon then it got kinda mushy. Still very good coverage on Saturday but it was melting fast in all the heat. Wonderful skiing in bright sunshine and t-shirts and shorts weather.

Day ended on a bad note. On the very last run of the year, my wife fell awkwardly on Sneaky Pete. Was not going that fast but it doesn't take much to wrench a knee sometimes. It was too bad because we were going home after that run. If only we quit one run earlier!!! After a ride down on the patrol sled and a trip to the ER, no broken bones but she has some rest and rehab ahead of her. Hopefully her knee is not messed up too bad but time will tell.

Perfect day to pond-skim! Lots of people gathered around the pond. Boy #1 made it across and Boy #2 got about 3/4's across. Thanks to Saddleback for taking free photos of all the skimmers.

We had some amazing trips to Saddleback this year. Til next year all...

Sorry to hear about the Mrs. I hope she is healing well. On a positive note, Grats to the boys on some successful skimming. The first shot is killer! Thanks for some great Saddleback reporting this year Sal. Nice to share stories with a fellow Mainer.

Thank you for the great Saddleback TR's this season.

Was a hot but great day at Saddleback Saturday... I was overdressed and underprepared as I was too hot in my softshell, beanie hat and gloves (snas liners) - still had to shed quite a bit but didn't want to as I was out of sunscreen.

My first time to Saddleback as well as one of the other posters and liked it even more than I thought I would. Change out the base double and T-bar and it will rule.

Fortunately a good friend has a place nearby... 4+ hour drive would be pretty rough.
