Had a great first, lift serviced, day of the season yesterday at Saddleback! Got a fresh 4"-6" Sunday night which made for some soft surfaces with only 20 or so cars in the parking lot all day. Grey ghost was fast, as usual, with some great powder on the sides. Doodlebug was soft and natural with some saplings to contend with. As a bonus, patrol dropped the rope late in the day on lower Golden Smelt which kept us entertained until last chair.

Righteous! Thanks for Sharing.

OK I have a dumb question. I am confused on the location of Doodlebug. Isn't that just a connector trail... or does it lead into Parmacheenee Bell? We were there Sunday and I didn't see it open but maybe I am confused.

Yeah....looking closer at the map, I guess, Doodlebug turns into Parmachenee Belle. Looks like we were skiing Lower Doodlebug/Upper Parmachenee Belle. If you stay left on Grey Ghost just past The Pass, there is an entrance to lower Doodlebug that they dropped a rope on. I believe it should've been open on Sunday as well. It's a small entrance so you may not have noticed it if you weren't looking. Definitely a must do on a powder day!!!!

Yeah I usually hit that trail from the pass. We must have blown by that entrance!
