I wonder how much of that is due to local Mainers deciding to give it a shot over more expensive SR or SL

I am one of those Mainers. Pretty easy decision with a family of 4. Big mountain skiing at half the price of SL almost.

They can't recover from a conditions meltdown as quick as SL or have the lift system (yet), but they get a lot of Natural stuff. We are hitting there Friday - hoping for a POW day!

I agree Salsang,
I figured this movement would be happening, it was just a matter of when. It is easily justifiable to pay a $40 ticket for a slower lift system when:
The terrain is arguably the best in Maine (albeit smaller trail count)
The snow quality is arugably the best in Maine
They get the most snowfall in Maine
It's the prettiest mountain in Maine

If nighlife is not important to the consumer, then they're probably starting to head to Saddleback.

It's literally started from the top down. It seems like almost the entire staff has migrated over from Sugarloaf. I used to ski the Loaf almost exclusively but now tend to ski at the Back more and more…And it's only going to get better. Hopefully the crowds don't continue to grow at tha pace though!

Have fun Friday!
