On campus. I was one of only four students on my floor as a Freshman at Leitch Hall to graduate, so good luck! I managed to get transferred to Concordia on South Campus the second semester of my Freshman year and spent my next three years in Sheehy. As a North major, South would be a haul but it is the nicer part of campus. What ever you do, find some friends and get yourself into a Suite, ASAP (assuming you are not commuting from Lynn, lol. If you are commuting, make friends with people in a Suite through activities ASAP as couches serve as beds at night!). There definitely is one weird thing about living up here and that is the lack of cultural diversity, no lack of that at Lowell, especially in the Engineering Department. Lots of folks from India and southeastern Asia are in the Engineering program at Lowell. Alright, hijack over, back to your normally scheduled thread.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll probably be in the honors housing if I stay on campus, but hopefully my friend and I will be getting an apartment. I was hoping you had some info on renting in lowell.

Iteresting package you got there. So, it's Sat morning, your going skiing, of course, how do you decide which hill to head for?

If Cannon has snow then it will be Cannon, but if Vermont has way more snow like usual then it will be MRG.

You'll see the light and switch to mechanical.

Hopefully we can do a lot more touring next year, as long as you're going to stick around the area. Let's just make sure there are no more toe issues, k?

Hopefully I will be touring a lot next year. I will be doing a ton of stuff on Mt. Washington, I'm going for 20 days in the Presi's and 30 days total touring. I would tour basically every day except powder days if I had partners willing to do it.

Boss: Thanks for the detailed analysis on the situation. Voting with your dollars is certainly the best thing to do. My significant other is a non-trad at LSC. They don't have a lot of non-Trads at the College and most don't seem like the skiing type from what I understand, so I doubt they are loosing money from the local College. Sucks that a few bad worms spoil it for everyone. That was my hunch that they were trying to crack down on folks cheating the system. Your thought that the mountain increase their requirements is spot on. I suspect someone did an analysis and determined that increasing requirements and making it harder to get a College pass might have turned the College kids away from Burke and towards Jay, especially with such lax requirements. Tough situation.

I have shilled for people to ski Burke for many years and have promoted the mountain here and else where. Never expected any special treatment because I am promoting a product and brand I really enjoy. I am sure my own references for the mountain and trip reports have sent several thousand dollars worth of business to the mountain. Word of mouth is the best kind of advertising out there. But I can't say I ever expected anything in return. Does suck when a business slams a door into a loyal customer's face due to a rule in the book. If there is one thing I know for sure in any business, is that almost any rule can be broken in special circumstances. Given your history, communications, and pride in the mountain, surprised they didn't cut you a break.

I'm willing. I can't promise I won't still be on the Rossi's though... :dunce:

You're right, Riv. I've always helped because I wanted to...not to expect any special treatment. Now I just was putting out the info on how much I did help....

Here are my passes
Pats Peak- $179
Breakout (Cannon-Sunapee-Gunstock)- $229

here is my question. Im a grad student, anyone know how many classes I will have to take to be considered a full time grad student?? We have 4 terms a year and I am taking 2-3 classes per term. I know for pats peak they need a college ID is all, the Breakout pass is a bit trickier with a letter for the registrars office.

Well, we know for certain that you can't get a student pass at Burke Mountain.

What program are you in? MA? MBA? As long as the school can say that you are earning the regular semester load, you are fine.

The school or the person that pays the tuition should know that. It depends on the school and tuition rate is usually diferent for part-timers and fulltimers. I'm surprised some resorts/hills still only require just a college ID.

Price for student pass at Burke (if you are not at LSC or living in NEK) is now up to $345. That rivals the ASC All East Pass Program in price, but much less value regrettably.

I bought my Burke Adult pass before the June 1 deadline. Ended up around $550 with tax. Not too much higher than last year. Hopefully the Jay deal is still in effect. That came in pretty handy a few times last year.
