We skied Shawnee Peak on Sunday. The conditions were very good. They had made a lot of snow this week and opened from the top. I was there sat when Parmalees opened from the top. It was manmade whales with some moguls forming. They also got 3 inches of natural which helped. They opened Jack Sprat yesterday and that was awesome!! Had some nice moguls formed on the top of the horn also. Looking forward to wed night as it is the first night for racing! Wish us luck.

Nice! Haven't been to Shawnee for a while. That's a great mountain, especailly for night skiing. A few years ago, my husband and I were there from afternoon and stayed for some night skiing. We had a blast, especailly after the 4:00pm grooming. Should've seen it, we were waiting at the top of Parmalee's. There was a whole group of skiers standing behind a rope they put across the trail, while they groomed the trails....the ski patrol could see everyone just biting at the chomp waiting for the drop of the rope. Just as soon as the patrol pulled the rope back, everyone made a mad dash to get "first run" on the groomed trails. It was pretty sweet, we stayed for a while for the night skiing and had a great time! Good place for night skiing. Not too many people.
